Local ICT solutions service provider African Legend Indigo (AL Indigo) remains upbeat, despite confirming the resignations of CEO Michael Jacobus and financial director Manuela Torres.
The company would not provide any details surrounding the resignations, other than to say Jacobus has decided to pursue other interests outside of the organisation.
“The board of directors of AL Indigo is in the process of finalising the appointment of the new CEO and financial director,” says the company.
Meanwhile, Mallele Petje, non-executive director of the AL Indigo board, will be acting CEO, assisted by the general managers of the four divisions: business service management; service-oriented architecture for enterprise; infrastructure solutions and supply chain; and task management and mobility solutions.
Petje is currently group CEO of Muelekanyi Investment Holdings. He was also former superintendent-general of education and director-general in Gauteng province, adds AL Indigo.
Mashudu Tshivhase, executive chairman of AL Indigo, says: “I am confident that Mallele Petje and the general managers will be able to provide the business generally, and divisions specifically, with good strategic direction and drive.”
The company says the board remains positive despite these resignations. It believes “...there are sufficient highly-qualified candidates to take the organisation into the next phase of its growth”.
Petje comments on Datatec's disinvestment: “One of the key events during 2009 was the announcement that African Legend Computing bought Datatec's 55% stake in our organisation and brought its shareholding up to 100%. That means we are now a fully-owned black economic empowerment business enterprise, and with our strategic relationships with key vendors, we are now looking to expand our business throughout Africa, as well as in South Africa.”
ITWeb will interview Tshivhase next week.
