Aladdin rolls out smart cards

Aladdin Knowledge Systems will be releasing eToken Virtual and Aladdin MobilePass, a -based authentication solution, says Business Wire.

Aladdin's software authentication solutions will be available in both encrypted virtual smartcard platforms for PCs and portable flash drives, and one-time-password platforms for PCs, flash and mobile devices.

Aladdin's software authentication solutions are managed with its Token Management System, allowing organisations to complement hardware authentication deployments and tailor solutions to various levels.

Tarmin simplifies storage

Tarmin Technologies has released version 1.5 of its GridBank object-based storage archiving solution with 64-bit Linux and Windows Server 2008 editions and new features specially focused on Microsoft's SharePoint, states IT Director.com.

The UK-based start-up says its aim is to shrink an organisation's storage and data management total cost of ownership by shifting data away from expensive tier-one storage.

Its enterprise-class active archiving supports Windows, Linux and several Unix platforms, as well as VMware and HyperV virtual environments.

Mac backup solution released

Iron Mountain Digital's Connected Backup solution is now available for Mac users in the UK and Europe, says MacWorld.

The Connected Backup solution provides businesses of all sizes with the ability to protect vital corporate data, now regardless of computer platform. The service also comes with dedicated local support with Iron Mountain Digital's UK partners, 2e2 on board.

Mac support is similar to that offered to PC users, including fast and efficient automatic backup without user interruption or IT intervention.
