Alchemex teams up with Australian software powerhouse Sybiz

Johannesburg, 28 Nov 2006

Alchemex, the dynamic South African-based business intelligence software vendor, has teamed up with Australian software powerhouse Sybiz to launch the Sybiz Vision Business Intelligence Centre (BIC).

This complete software integration will see Alchemex realising international revenues by capitalising on its expertise gained in providing a business intelligence solution for other major accounting and payroll vendors like Pastel Partner, Pastel Evolution, Pastel Payroll, VIP Payroll, SAP Business One, Accpac ERP and others in South Africa.

The successful new Sybiz integration represents Alchemex's first foray into the Australian and international market.

Commenting on broadening the company's market into the international arena, Gary Boddington, Alchemex MD, said: "We have created an enormous amount of intellectual property since our inception, all of which is very relevant to the international market. We had been looking for opportunities to spread our wings abroad and were very fortunate and privileged to team up with Sybiz."

Sybiz Vision is an Australian-owned software vendor that has an approximate 8% stake in the mid-size accounting market in that country.

Boddington added: "Sybiz is a very professionally run organisation that ships world class software to various countries around the world."

Five years ago, Alchemex was founded with the vision of delivering a simple reporting tool to company decision-makers who experienced frustrations with reporting. The company has shown tremendous growth and currently enables nearly 3 000 companies with its reporting software. Its fifth birthday was recently celebrated with the release of version 6 of its flagship product, Alchemex Reporting Solutions, including an OLAP module which adds rich analysis functionality to the traditional end-user query and reporting tools supplied in previous versions of the software.

Alchemex proudly claims to extend the value of a company's investment in existing software by providing a totally flexible reporting solution that leverages the power of Microsoft Excel to give decision-makers instant access to the right information, formatted the way they choose. Alchemex also creates additional opportunities for existing sales channels to generate extra revenues by offering added value to clients.

"We are well poised for the anticipated growth in the business intelligence sector," says Boddington. "We have spent many years studying and understanding the market and have built some very stable, robust and scalable technology and we now have a very solid platform to experience strong growth in South Africa and abroad as the anticipated business intelligence avalanche begins."

The launch of the Sybiz Vision Business Intelligence Centre (BIC) in Australia has been exceptionally well-received and sales forecasts are positive. Says Ben O'Brien, Finance and Services Director, Sybiz Software: "I did our first Australian roadshow today and the Business Intelligence Centre demonstration went really well. I started from the menu of the management pack drill down and ran an income statement. A lady in the third row immediately exclaimed 'you've sold me already'."
