AlephZeph reduces time of value realisation by 30%

Johannesburg, 17 Jun 2004

AlephZeph Consulting increased the time to realise value from enterprise architecture solutions by 30% through a value-added reseller agreement with Inspired and TheProjectOffice.

AlephZeph reduced the time to realise the return on enterprise architecture solutions by 30% by becoming a value-added reseller of the Archi enterprise architecture tool.

AlephZeph Consulting was the first to deploy Archi, developed by Cape-based developer Inspired, in Gauteng.

During this implementation it became clear that a return on investment can be realised quicker with a pre-configured toolset. AlephZeph Consulting partnered with Inspired and TheProjectOffice to unlock more value faster for its customers.

Traditionally, AlephZeph Consulting delivers solutions independent of software products. The approach was adjusted slightly when AlephZeph Consulting signed up as a value-added reseller.

Jurgens Pieterse, executive member, confirms that AlephZeph will remain product independent when developing business solutions. Faster time to market and faster payback periods are, however, crucial to enterprise architecture solutions.

AlephZeph`s market-driven enterprise architecture solutions can be accelerated by using a toolset that can be rapidly deployed.

AlephZeph`s consulting is the only consulting firm that focuses on customer value growth in its enterprise architecture approach. A functional gap still exists between marketing, operations and IT. Enterprise architecture as an enterprise-wide discipline must eliminate this gap and align business objectives, sales targets and IT investments to ensure a real return on IT.

Pieterse argues that the customer is the only source of sustainable income. Enterprise architecture solutions must create a differentiation that customers value in the value network. This differentiation is key to sustainable competitive fitness and is based on defining a chain of interdependence between the marketing strategy, business processes, and information supply and IT.

AlephZeph brings a powerful market-driven enterprise architecture methodology to the partnership complementing Inspired`s knowledge-based approach and TheProjectOffice`s programme management competencies.

The meta model supporting AlephZeph`s value framework is fully contained within Archi where it is maintained. By having Archi available as an option with pre-configured meta model the time between developing an enterprise architecture solution and realising value from it is dramatically reduced. The information-centric design makes it easy to capture and communicate the enterprise architecture with all its interdependencies.

The full Web-enablement makes it easy to deploy the enterprise architecture solution across the organisation. The simple language-based user interface enables quick mastery, across the enterprise, of architecture concepts.

Archi is human interest centric which means all participants in the enterprise architecture process can view the architecture from their particular viewpoint. Archi has an XML API that allows it to integrate with other enterprise architecture tools of choice as well as various operational interfaces. All these factors within Archi accelerate the adoption and implementation of enterprise architecture strategies to realise business value.

AlephZeph prides itself on developing a business model where a complete solution is offered to customers. AlephZeph builds strong partnerships with vendors and service providers to bring the right party to the table on very short notice to implement enterprise architecture solutions.

Samuel Toly, Marketing manager of AlephZeph, concludes: "Through this partnership we will enable IT managers to show quicker measurable returns on IT investments. Marketing managers and business managers, on the other hand, are empowered to use IT to create a real differentiation within the value network that targets specific strategic segments."
