Alfresco intros open-source BPM

Alfresco has developed an open source BPM technology, writes Network World.

The content management company is the lead partner in a team that is developing the Activiti project, based on the emerging BPMN 2.0 standard from the Object Management Group.

The company is unveiling Activiti under an Apache licence rather than the LGPL licence it currently uses for its enterprise edition, that in itself was changed earlier this year from the GPL licence.

UST Global, a service provider for Global 2000 enterprises, completed the design and implementation of a BPM solution for Catalina Marketing, a player in precision marketing and shopper-driven media, says Earth Times.

UST developed a solution based on the Oracle suite of products to meet Catalina's goal of providing more efficient services and solutions to its food marketing partners and healthcare providers.

The UST solution and implementation directly impact Catalina's efficiency, giving it the ability to innovate and provide the greater flexibility customers demand on a more real-time basis.

AuraPortal has demonstrated its latest BPMS platform product, which will be distributed in the US by CAASPRE Consulting, according to iDev News.

AuraPortal's BPM offers a pre-integrated business process platform that allows up to six critical types of applications to share the same environment in a seamless approach.
