Alien Technologies unveils digital editing solution

Alien Technologies, South African distributors of the FAST-Dazzle range of video editing and capturing products, has announced a new Snazzi product that will be demonstrated at this year`s Computer Faire.

Launched in Europe earlier this year, DV.now AV is a video editing solution for analogue and digital material. Equipped with the new Adobe Premiere 6.0 full version and a new version 1.6 of FAST.forward, it is also compatible with Windows 2000 and Ulead`s Media Studio Pro 6.0.

The new version 1.6 of FAST.forward software has been specifically developed by FAST to perform the most time-consuming part of video editing: selecting and recording the clips to the hard disk, pre-editing them to the desired length and arranging them in a storyboard. Practical features include automatic scene detection for moving to the beginning and end of a scene. The Capture Assistant enables multi-file capturing, a function that speeds up the transfer of video to hard disk.

User-friendly guidance has been built in as wizards in this version, so that all adjustments are clearly available in templates. The full version of Adobe Premiere editing software provides the professional touch in designing sophisticated videos of the highest quality.

Says Voula Philippides, MD of Alien Technologies, "The question of analogue or digital need no longer be a consideration - DV.now AV makes the choice for you. Based on the widely tested and acclaimed performance of the DV.now editing solution, you an now integrate analogue clips into your film as well, thanks to the additional ports on the external connection box.

"This gives you the opportunity to edit in both video worlds. User-friendly software and closely co-ordinated step by step procedures gives you a fast and reliable introduction to the world of professionally designed video."
