All in the name of Charity

Johannesburg, 22 Nov 2000

Further to the success of the Molex Premise Networks Veterans Cup Match, another football match was organised on Friday 17th November, between Central Installations (CDI) and ECS Limited - two Molex Certified Installers. The match was also held in aid of Breast, Ovarian and Cervical Cancer charities as Sarah Martin, an employee at CDI, has Breast Cancer.

lb3,000.00 was raised on the night and it is anticipated that further donations will be received. Steve Gayton, Major Projects Manager, Molex Premise Networks, presented the cheque to Sarah after the match.

James Quinn, centre-forward for West Bromwich Albion and Northern Ireland, presented the winning cup to CDI and medals to all players at the Pingles Stadium, Nuneaton. A signed Northern Ireland shirt was given for the auction on behalf of the Northern Ireland squad. The auction was held after the match, raising an additional lb500.00. CDI won the match 3-2 and Sarah chose Jamie Ryder from CDI, as Man of the Match.

John Wakelam, Captain and Projects Director, CDI said, "The whole event was a roaring success, with huge support on the night from both Molex and ECS. We raised well above what we had expected, which is testimony to Steve Gayton and the Molex team who organised this whole event. Thanks go to ECS for volunteering as the opposition and for their donation".

Steve Lamb, veteran mid-field player and Managing Director, ECS Limited commented; "We were more than happy to get involved and very pleased to see such a substantial amount raised for such a worthwhile cause. Well done to Molex for organising the event and many thanks to CDI for what was a competitive, but very good-natured game".

Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council donated Pingles Stadium free of charge in aid of the event.
