The combination of Migo software and the U3 smart drive computing platform ultimately improves the way mobile information is stored, carried and accessed.
Axiz, leading IT infrastructure distributor, is embracing the growing trend towards mobile computing with the introduction of U3 smart drives, which, combined with Migo software, keeps mobile users current and connected.
"People are always looking for ways to take their personal computing environment with them, without having to lug stacks of paperwork, CDs, floppies, zip drives or even their laptop for that matter," says Caroline Macharia, flash memory product manager at Axiz. "Users can look forward to lightening their load because, thanks to Migo and U3, they can now carry almost everything they need in their pocket."
Migo software lets users transfer their computer`s desktop (files, settings, and more) to a U3 drive. It is available for download from www.migosoftware.com. U3 is a USB smart drives that hosts a "personal workspace" - not only data and files, but software programs, like Migo, personal user preferences and the means for managing them.
Users can transform any Windows-based PC into their virtual PC, carrying everything from their desktop icons and wallpaper to their Internet history and cookies from one PC to another. "Users can do all this without leaving a permanent footprint on the borrowed computer," says Macharia.
Users can access their personal applications and data from their USB smart drive through a user-friendly interface, called the U3 Launchpad, making computing more mobile and secure. The U3 smart drive computing platform is designed to leave the host computer unaltered when the U3 powered USB smart drive is removed, and to give the user full confidence that no personal information has been left behind.
Migo software automatically copies users` critical data and settings from their PC onto a U3 powered USB smart drive with a few easy clicks. "They can simply plug their U3 powered USB smart drive into a USB port on another PC temporarily transforming it to look and behave like their own computer," explains Macharia.
"Best of all, Migo automatically synchronises the updated files to their home PC, eliminating the need for users to e-mail the altered documents back to themselves."
