ALM vital to increased ROI

EOH Gallium and HP to share latest application life cycle management solutions.

Johannesburg, 01 Mar 2011

According to Gartner, the work to initially deliver an application represents a mere 8% of its total cost of ownership. The other 92% is derived from the loops that must be made around the complete life cycle.

EOH Gallium, a certified HP platinum partner and a division of EOH Global Application Solutions, will explore this and more at its Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) solutions symposium on 9 and 10 March.

EOH Global Application Solutions Managing Director, Haydn Pinnell, says that together with HP, EOH Gallium will explore how IT can assist in achieving predictable business outcomes, deliver high quality applications while remaining responsive to change.

HP's Director of BTO Application Solutions for the Mediterranean, Middle East and Africa, Cuneyt Buyukbezci, will discuss the total quality management of an application life cycle. He says: “Applications have become integral to the modern enterprise and business nimbleness now depends on the agility of the application. Business can only move, change and expand as fast and efficiently as applications do.”

Over the years, Buyukbezci has held various business management roles and board memberships in multiple software and services companies.

Buyukbezci says: “An application doesn't begin as a set of requirements; it begins as a business idea. And, it doesn't end the day it goes live; in fact, go-live only marks the birth of something that's bound to live a long life.”

South Africa's leading IT journalist Paul Furber will be facilitating an ALM panel discussion between HP, EOH Gallium and ALM customers. This discussion will be followed by a live technical demonstration of ALM 11, a Q&A session and technical breakaway forums.

The symposium will be held in Johannesburg on Wednesday, 9 March and in Cape Town on Thursday, 10 March. For more information on the events, contact Nthabeleng Monyane on Nthabeleng.Monyane@eoh.co.za.
