New process management and control sub-division created in Bytes Technology Group - Systems Integration (BTG Systems Integration)
Former Altech company, Altech Informatics has been incorporated into the Bytes Technology Group PTY (Ltd), under the BTG Systems Integration division with immediate effect.
The company will now be known as BTG Systems Integration - Process Management and Control (PMC) and forms the pillar within this division which specialises in bringing technology solutions to manufacturing and mining companies which require a high level of integration with existing systems.
Says Pieter Theron, Divisional Managing Director of BTG Systems Integration - PMC: "We are delighted with the move into the BTG group of companies, it is a logical move for us and a beneficial one to our customers. We are now part of a group of software integration companies which truly understand and operate within our market. In addition to which we can now offer our customers access to skills competencies above and beyond our own service offerings."
PMC as a company is able to offer customers sensor-to-boardroom industrial software solutions, from PLC, SCADA to MES, as well as additional services around the integration of both hardware and software infrastructures. The absorption into BTG now means the company can also tap into a pool of skills which include: Business Objects, C-Beyond, SAP, AXAPTA, Microsoft Visual Basic and a host of other skills it previously had to outsource to third party suppliers.
Adds Theron: "We currently operate in a number of the same industries as the BTG group and we haven`t even begun to tap into the synergies these present. Another factor of importance to us is that BTG has a number of offices throughout South Africa and Africa, which gives us the geographical footprint our customers have been demanding from us."
Clients dealing with the former Altech Informatics are now presented with the opportunity to deal with a one-stop total solutions integrator for their business and process automation requirements, they have access to skills from one of the largest ICT companies in SA, a far-reaching geographical footprint, access to a wider range of skills in both technology developments and industry and process management knowledge.
To underline its continued competence in systems integration, the company and its customer Western Platinum Refinery recently won the coveted Best Integrated Archestra Solution award at the Wonderware Xchange 2005 conference. The complete solution consist of Wonderware InTouch, InBatch, InSQL, FactorySuite A2 and Illuminator integrated to Allen Bradley PLC`s, Protean, Labvantage LIMS and some Microsoft Visual Basic that runs in a terminal services environment.
PMC has a track record of close to 10 years in the industry and it has an impressive list of successful large and small scale projects at a wide range of customers. Skills offered include technologies supplied by Wonderware, Siemens, GE Fanuc, Oracle and Microsoft within an ISO 9001 consulting and project execution framework. This breadth of offerings is now complemented by the other divisions, resulting in an even better offering and service to existing and prospective customers.
"While it is business as usual for our existing customers, we are excited about the new opportunities this change of profile will afford us, and we look forward to engaging with our customers in our new role," ends Theron.
