Altech ISIS, a subsidiary of JSE-listed Altech, has appointed Carlo Regueiras as Africa account manager.
Regueiras is a Harvard University graduate, with experience in international market expansion and knowledge of the procurement procedures of governments and businesses across Africa. He has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science and an MBA degree.
Altech ISIS is a software development house and systems integrator. It was established in 1984 and is a level three empowered company. Its solutions manage more than 60 million customers throughout Africa and beyond.
The company has said it aims to boost its revenue from outside of SA to half of all turnover by expanding into Africa. Altech ISIS currently earns 30% of its revenue from Africa, with the balance generated in SA, where it is based.
In the six months to August 2012, Altech ISIS delivered a "solid performance" although operating profit was slightly down compared to the prior period due to a number of large projects not starting as anticipated, says Altech's results publication.
Altech ISIS has expanded into market segments beyond its traditional telecommunications sector client base, says Altech. "Trading growth is expected to improve based on the solid business development pipeline that has been created during the reporting period."
