Amazon offers Office 2010
Amazon UK has started offering consumer versions of Microsoft Office 2010, writes PC Advisor.
The online store states that the productivity suite will launch on 30 June and is offering three-user Home and Student versions. The official release for business editions is said to be 12 May.
Customers who buy Office 2007 can do so for a lower price and then upgrade to the new suite for free.
County office converts microfilm to digital
The San Luis Obispo County Recorder's Office has successfully converted its microfilm-based records to an electronic format with BMI Imaging's Digital ReeL microfilm scanning solution, according to PRWeb.
Digital ReeL is a microfilm scanning service and software application that allows records to be retrieved from a graphic interface that resembles a microfilm reader printer.
San Luis Obispo County Official records are now stored at BMI's data centre operations. The information is stored and managed on an IT infrastructure that offers 99.999% data availability as well as industry-leading disaster recovery and business continuity.
Wolfson licenses Tensilica HiFi audio
Wolfson Microelectronics and Tensilica have signed a licence agreement to create a low power, high definition (HD) sound platform, says MarketWatch.
This licence agreement will bring HD sound to multimedia platforms, including mobile handsets, netbooks, smartbooks, digital TVs and other multimedia devices.
"Wolfson is a leader in high-quality and low-power mixed-signal audio and we are pleased to be at the forefront of its expansion into the digital audio realm utilising the HiFi EP Audio DSP,” says Jack Guedj, CEO of Tensilica.
