
AMD gets tech veteran
AMD has appointed industry veteran Tomo Kamiya as the IT giant's regional vice-president in sales and marketing for South Asia, reports Computer World.
Tomo will oversee all sales and marketing activities for Australia, New Zealand and Asia.
AMD says that he will also drive the company's regional business forward through the engagement of business partners and stakeholders to meet the technology needs of the end-user.
Westcon drives business growth
Networking distributor Westcon has appointed Bill Hurley to the position of chief technology officer to help drive the company's growth, states Channel Web.
Hurley originally joined Westcon last April, as chief information officer and assisted the company in its virtualisation strategy via consolidation of Westcon's data centre, conversion to cloud computing and a conversion to software-as-a-service for messaging and collaboration.
His new role will include overseeing Westcon's IT organisation, and identifying future technologies and capabilities the distributor will invest in as it pushes for growth in its global portfolio.
SenSage hires McAfee VP
SenSage has hired Joe Gottlieb to fulfil the position as the company's vice-president of marketing and business development, says IT News Online.
Gottlieb will be responsible for developing the company's marketing and alliance strategies, and implementing programme initiatives for SenSage's event data warehouse solutions.
Gottlieb joins SenSage from McAfee where he was vice-president of corporate strategy and technology alliances where he spearheaded the Security Innovation Alliance; McAfee's technology partnering programme.
