AMD restructures business
AMD is restructuring the company into four divisions based on products, technology, marketing, and customers, in a move it says is aimed at optimising operations and integrating its x86 processor and graphics technologies, states CBR.
The products group will be led by Rick Bergman, with Jeff VerHeul heading the division's processor solutions engineering team.
The advanced technology group will be led by Chekib Akrout, the marketing group by Nigel Dessau, and the customer group by Emilio Ghilardi.
Tech veteran joins Exenet
Exenet, a provider of IT consulting, integration and outsourcing services, has appointed Gil Shaked as its chief executive officer, reports Earth Times.
Shaked brings over 25 years of global technology and management experience in support of clients across the financial industry including alternative investments, asset management, and hedge funds.
He says: "Coupling Exenet solutions with other technology platforms and strategic relationships will create more comprehensive offerings for our clients and position us as the leading technology provider."
CSC gets new CIO
CSC has named Bob Hayward as its new Australasia chief technology and innovation officer, says ARN.
Hayward will provide overall direction and business management and will be responsible for aiding CSC and its clients to understand where technology can be applied for innovative changes in business practices.
He will also play an active role in the company's account innovation programmes to bring clients relevant information on technologies such as cloud computing, Web 2.0 and hosted virtual desktops.
