Amnon Landan named entrepreneur of the year for IT by Northern California Ernst & Young

Mercury Interactive CEO recognised among prestigious Silicon Valley innovators.

Today, Mercury Interactive Corporation, the global leader in business technology optimisation, announced its chairman and CEO Amnon Landan is an award recipient of the prestigious 2003 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award for Information Technology in Northern California.

Landan was recognised for his achievements in business technology optimisation among 35 finalists of Silicon Valley and Northern California`s top business leaders. Landan was honoured on 20 June at the 17th annual Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year award banquet.

"This award reflects the achievements of the people and customers of Mercury Interactive who have our position as the leader in the business technology optimisation industry," said Landan. "I am honoured to lead our world-class team. We all look forward to helping our customers optimise the value of their information technology."

Other recipients of this award have included Bill Coleman of BEA Systems, David Duffield of PeopleSoft, Larry Ellison of Oracle, Charles Geschke and John Warnock of Adobe, Scott McNealy of Sun Microsystems, Gordon Moore and Bob Noyce of Intel, Pierre Omidyar of eBay, and Stratton Sclavos of VeriSign.

Landan was recognised for establishing Mercury Interactive as one of the top performing companies in the world and received top scores in leadership and management, innovation, people philosophy and financial performance.

In March 2003, the Wall Street Journal ranked Mercury Interactive number one among software companies in its shareholder scorecard for the best five-year average returns. In April, BusinessWeek ranked Mercury among the top five S&P 500 software performers. Mercury is also ranked in the top 20 on Forbes Fastest Growing Technology Companies, with 41% sales growth over the past five years and 11% in the last year.
