Messaging and convergence specialist AmVia has entered into a business partnership with T-Systems South Africa, to provide solutions that integrate organisations` business systems with mobile communication capabilities.
Fairoz Jaffer, inland growth officer, AmVia, says: "The combination of AmVia`s and T-Systems` solutions will assist organisations to dramatically improve their competitiveness."
Previously debis IT Services Southern Africa, T-Systems is wholly owned by Deutsche Telekom AG and focuses on convergence of information technology and telecommunications through innovative e-business solutions.
According to Jaffer: "The agreement enables T-Systems to implement and support AmVia`s voice, short message service (SMS) and fax messaging tools in a number of vertical markets. T-Systems` specialisation in manufacturing, telecommunications, financial services and other growth markets provides AmVia with the ideal opportunity to broaden its client base," he says.
Moreover, T-Systems` excellent technical competencies and its high level of client service mean the company is able to support customers immediately on AmVia`s solutions.
"Also of great value to AmVia is its association via the T-Systems partnership with an international organisation that has vast technical resources and extensive financial reserves."
Jean Roux, business manager: collaboration, integration and media at T-Systems, confirms: "Mobile communication is becoming a major component of the e-business space. AmVia`s unified messaging tools, which enable convergence of fax, voice, e-mail and SMS technology, and its mobility competencies, fit in very well with T-Systems` convergence strategy."
A huge strength of the partnership, Roux says, is the fact that AmVia`s products integrate deeply into environments where T-Systems has core competencies, such as Lotus Domino, SAP and Microsoft. "With its significant return on investment and reduction in businesses` cost of operation, AmVia`s product suite offers an attractive enhancement of T-Systems` solutions offering to existing customers."
The partnership also opens up new opportunities to expand the company`s revenue stream, Roux adds.
AmVia and T-Systems are already involved in a number of exciting joint projects at high-profile clients, such as the integration of Daimler Chrysler`s SAP production system into its electronic delivery engine, RightFax, Jaffer concludes.
