AmVia boosts Microsoft compatibility with RightFax

Johannesburg, 24 Oct 2007

AmVia, the local distributor of Captaris RightFax, has announced the immediate availability of RightFax 9.3 Feature Pack 2, a robust fax over IP (FOIP) solution that includes new support for Microsoft Vista 32-bit; Microsoft Office 2007; and Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.

The release also includes expanded support for Cisco Call Manager and Cisco Routers, Avaya and Alcatel gateways as well as new digital fax boards from Cantata.

Enhanced support for Microsoft applications gives organisations the ability to use RightFax 9.3 in the latest application environments. With enhanced FOIP solutions from Captaris, customers have more choices to increase their return on investment by adding FOIP to current VOIP deployments.

Key benefits include:

* Interoperability with many Microsoft applications and operating systems;
* Expands integration options with FOIP infrastructure providers;
* Enhanced fax over IP options with all software or board hardware choices;
* Supports server-class computers with high-speed expansion bus; and
* Provides single IP network fax server solution.

"South African customers now have compatibility and interoperability with the latest Microsoft technologies," says Boudje Giljam, sales and marketing director of AmVia. "The RightFax FOIP platform provides a platform for companies to build out high-speed data communications in network configurations of their choice."

"For organisations that already have a VOIP network, the new RightFax offering provides a great opportunity for customers to leverage their investment into a complete voice and fax IP solution. This kind of unified network eliminates the need for landlines, saves time and money and provides secure electronic communications. The RightFax all-software solution eliminates the need to install or maintain boards, greatly reduces complexity and simplifies deployment in both standalone and distributed enterprise level fax server applications," says Giljam.
