Local value-added distributor, AmVia, has announced the availability of Captaris CallXpress for IBM Lotus Domino Unified Communications Services 1.2.
This new CallXpress integration from Captaris enables customers to leverage and enhance their existing investment in an IBM Lotus Domino messaging infrastructure, thus helping to reduce their total cost of ownership across their mail and voice communications systems.
Domino Unified Communications Services 1.2 is the first version to support IBM Lotus Notes & Domino 6. Captaris is one of three key development partners currently working with IBM Lotus in this market.
"IBM Lotus has been working with Captaris for several years now. As we move forward in our relationship, we are pleased to see Captaris deliver CallXpress for IBM Lotus Domino Unified Communications Services 1.2, which also integrates with Captaris RightFax. We believe that our joint effort results in a well integrated unified communications solution for our mutual customers," stated Dean Marsh, Director, Lotus Messaging Solutions, IBM Software Group.
The Radicati Group, a leading market research firm, stated in its recent Unified Messaging (UM) Marketing Trends 2002-2006 report that the market for UM vendors was expected to reach $217 million by year-end 2002, with approximately 6.55 million active UM mailboxes. The company also projects this market segment to reach $840 million in 2006, with about 24 million active UM mailboxes.
CallXpress enables customers to access and manage voicemail, fax and e-mail messages via their desktop, telephone, cellphone and Internet. A valuable time-management tool for IBM Lotus software customers, CallXpress is a scalable unified communications solution that enables end-user access to multiple message types in their Lotus Domino mail files. As all voice, fax and e-mail messages can be accessed in a single file and then shared among project members, this management function also facilitates improved collaboration among team members. In addition, enhanced notification features immediately inform users when important messages arrive.
