Local value-added distributor AmVia has partnered with technology financing stalwart Spartan, in order to bring software financing and rental options to its growing customer base.
Says Kevin Hurwitz, Managing Director of AmVia: "Software financing has been the most elusive of the financing options for our clients, as traditional finance houses do not normally offer this option for standalone software solutions. For this reason we, in partnership with Spartan, have worked out a plan whereby our customers can either rent or buy software from AmVia."
Spartan will offer both a financed purchase or software rental option on all of the solutions currently offered by AmVia, which spans the business information delivery and enterprise content management arenas and boasts well known names like Captaris RightFax, Meridio and EMC EmailXtender.
Goolam Aziz, Corporate Business Director at Spartan, says: "Software financing is still a new concept to the industry as traditional financiers have been very uncomfortable with the concept. Based on the fact that our heritage has been firmly entrenched in the technology industry and it is a market we understand, we decided to take an entrepreneurial view on this, and offer it as a value-add to our customers.
"We currently only support quality and reputable products and solutions. If the product is not reviewed as a widely accepted product, we won`t put it on our books. The products that AmVia have, like its Captaris RightFax offering is an established and recognised brand in the industry, and AmVia itself is a respected and well-known supplier."
Companies taking advantage of the financed offerings from Spartan will be able to free up capital, and leave their existing credit lines with their financial institutions untouched. This in turn will ensure they can invest in their business, and know that their software requirements are being taken care of. Spartan will not only offer these finance solutions to corporates and enterprises but will extend these to SME and mid-sized companies as well.
"For us a software finance offering is an extension of our existing business and is a natural transition for us," says Aziz. "Recent research that we have done with our customers confirms that software is becoming more and more important to their business, but they often have to hold back purchasing decisions because they do not have available capital to invest into it."
Ends Hurwitz: "Compliance issues are of growing concern to companies of all sizes, and they need to ensure they have the right tools in place to be able to meet with regulatory compliance, and that the software that they use is in itself legal.
