AmVia - Voicematix, exclusive distributor of Brooktrout Technology`s intelligent fax boards, has announced that it will support Microsoft`s Small Business Server 2000`s Shared Fax Service.
Brooktrout`s TruFax boards, combined with Microsoft Small Business Server 2000`s Shared Fax Service, will allow users to send faxes reliably and directly from their PCs as easily as sending an e-mail, using any Microsoft Windows application. Brooktrout Technology`s 99.999% up-time reliability, low-cost, plug-and-play TruFax PCI intelligent fax boards bring the power of industrial-grade intelligent faxing to end users and small businesses.
AmVia`s Product Advocate, Percy Erasmus says that users faxing from their computers using standard modems risk lost connections and laggard transmit times. He continues to say that Brooktrout Technology`s intelligent fax boards, which are designed specifically for faxing, provide more reliable and consistent fax connections and transmissions, resulting in lower management and telephone costs, increased productivity time, and higher confidence among end users and IT managers.
"We`ve used Brooktrout`s fax boards extensively with the Shared Fax Service and believe they will increase the performance and reliability of the overall solution for 24x7 faxing," said Or Ben-Natan, Microsoft Lead Shared Fax Development Engineer. "We will be deploying Brooktrout fax boards for internal use in Microsoft`s own offices world-wide."
Brooktrout Technology`s intelligent fax boards provide the reliability, security and affordability required by today`s small and large businesses.
By using intelligent fax boards, businesses can save productivity time and phone costs by avoiding the re-tries, failed transmissions and slower transmit rates associated with modems. In addition, Brooktrout`s fax boards are designed specifically for faxing, so they cannot be "hacked" into, which means there is no need for a firewall.
Shared Fax service allows the small business using Microsoft Small Business Server 2000 to make use of an integrated LAN fax capability that allows end-users to send faxes from their desktop PC, rather than standing in line at a standalone fax machine. Automated faxing takes place in the background, freeing end-users to spend their time in more useful ways.
AmVia`s Mission Controller, Kevin Hurwitz says, "We foresee tremendous demand for Brooktrout`s TruFax boards with Microsoft Small Business Server customers who at present are using fax/modems to do their faxing. Fax is a critical part of the business communications landscape and users will look to the best fax performance with the lowest long-term costs, along with higher throughput and connect success rates that lead to lower telco costs given the reasonable price point on the TruFax boards."
