An easy match

Johannesburg, 20 Jan 2011

The partnership between Bidvest company, Konica Minolta South Africa, and graphic arts suppliers to the advertising, printing and publishing industry, DigitalView, is set to enhance the throughput quality, time and costing of digital printing jobs, ultimately benefiting the client.

“With this new partnership, clients are guaranteed a complete solution to their digital printing needs,” says Leon Minnie, production systems product specialist at Konica Minolta South Africa, and one of only 15 people in the world to have been awarded the Konica Minolta Outward Diploma in Colour.

“Moreover, the solution is quick to set up and easy to manage, and clients deal with experts from the hardware and software solution side, without the hassle of having to search for these services independently.”

Minnie adds that by matching Konica Minolta South Africa's digital presses with the ORIS colour management software solution, available through DigitalView, clients can achieve customised colour spectrums as well as unified colour quality across all their printing jobs. “It's a perfect match,” he says.

As the on-demand printing market continually expands, digital printing technology is gaining greater momentum and commercial printers are seeing the benefits of this additional revenue stream.

“What this partnership mainly ensures is the consistent and predictable colour of digital printing jobs. It looks beyond new applications, such as the variable data printing of digital printing technology, as it focuses on enhancing the true excellence of a job in a deadline-driven industry,” says Mark Minter, managing director at DigitalView.

He adds that DigitalView's software interfaces easily with Konica Minolta South Africa's hardware, making it a valuable long-term partnership.

“DigitalView has the software expertise to complement Konica Minolta South Africa's digital presses, which will hopefully lead to clients fully utilising the technology. Additionally, as a Fogra PSO Partner, we have the ability to assist print companies in achieving PSO Certification,” says Minter.

Going forward, Konica Minolta South Africa and DigitalView will co-operatively support and install all hardware and software for their clients. “In effect, this means we become a one-stop solution provider for any client wishing to utilise this combined offering,” concludes Minnie.
