Specialist performance management consulting and training company, Analytix (Pty) Limited, is gearing up to extend its growing customer base into the public sector market.
The company, which has already won major contracts from established competitors since its establishment in 2002, has appointed two key executives, Nelson Mgcina and Mothibe Mothibe to spearhead its drive into the Performance Management Consulting Sector.
Mgcina, as managing director of Analytix Consulting (Pty) Limited, will be responsible for taking the Analytix offering to the market and ongoing business development. Mothibe, as an executive director, will be responsible for professional services and consulting.
The move forms part of a black-empowerment initiative, which saw 56% of Analytix`s consulting division transferred to previously disadvantages individuals.
Johan Botha, executive chairman of Analytix Consulting, says Analytix is fast making a name for itself in the performance management arena, with more than 35 major companies - including Eskom, Liberty, SABC, the South African Post office, Anglo American, Anglo Platinum and others - having attended Analytix training courses in less than 18 months.
In the consulting field, Analytix recently outshone heavyweight competitors to be awarded a tender to assist the Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) to enhance its performance management system and processes. Other major corporates to have chosen Analytix include Hollard Risk Capital and Capital Alliance, among others.
"In each case, our key differentiators have been Analytix`s ability to move beyond the production of complex reports, to implementation of practical, integrated and cost-effective solutions that have made a measurable difference in the organisations we`ve been involved with.
"We are now well positioned to take our knowledge, gained from extensive international research and practical implementation in local conditions, to the public and private sectors," says Botha.
He points to recent developments including the Public Finance Management Act, the Skills Development Act and the King Report on Corporate Governance: "These are forcing both public and private sector companies to formalise performance management and align all individuals with the mission and vision of the organisation."
Adding further value to its offering, Analytix also addresses all three levels where performance management is needed: at the corporate, team or divisional, as well as at the individual level.
"It is at the individual performance management level that we see most potential," continues Botha. "Most companies have various approaches to enhancing performance, including key performance indicators, employing balanced scorecard and other performance management systems and techniques.
"However, there is often no practical integration of individual performance in these systems in such a way that it, firstly, enhances team performance and, secondly, ensures the personal development, training and career and succession planning aspects of the human resources function.
"For this reason, Analytix also focuses on bringing competency management into the performance management process. We assist them to introduce practical competency frameworks that make a real difference to overall performance management."
