Android users to get Mobage gaming app

Mobage will be the go-to place for AT&T Android users to visit for game discovery, leaderboards and all of the other social goodness that comes along with these sorts of platforms.
According to MarketWatch, Ted Woodbery, VP, Wireless Data, Voice and Ancillary Services, AT&T Mobility and Consumer Markets, games are consistently among the most popular entertainment apps for smartphones. “We are pleased to be the first US wireless carrier to work with NGMOCO and look forward to giving our Android customers access to the rich Mobage gaming catalogue later this year,” says Woodbery.
“AT&T has been a leader in the smartphone revolution in many ways,” says Neil Young, CEO, NGMOCO. “We are delighted to bring Mobage to the massive group of Android users on the network.”
Mobage has over 27 million users with more than 1 000 game titles in Japan. But in the US, Mobage in English is currently still in beta. While it has 30 million users back in Japan, it remains to be seen whether DeNA can replicate the same success in the US, reveals Penn Olson.
Its competitor, GREE hasn't made much movement in the US, besides its Openfeint acquisition. Instead, it has chosen to partner with other giant networks in Asia including Tencent and mig33, making that alliance over 800 million users strong.
