Internet Solutions CEO Angus MacRobert has quit the company after spending eight years at its helm.
Parent company Dimension Data says MacRobert has stepped down for “personal reasons”. He will be replaced by Derek Wilcocks as MD from tomorrow, while the reins are being passed. Wilcocks was MD of IS prior to MacRobert's appointment.
Allan Cawood, CEO of Dimension Data Middle East and Africa, says: “Angus has been instrumental in growing the Internet Solutions business over the past eight years and the foundation for the company's future success has been well established.”
Cawood says MacRobert will be taking some time out and will be “putting his feet up” for a while. “Angus has always been the guy who challenged the status quo and pushed for deregulation. He was a great ambassador for change within the industry,” he adds.
MacRobert joined IS as CEO in 2001, at the age of 33, after having spent a year at Dimension Data as the MD of Protocol, Dimension Data's business development and venture capital fund. Before joining the group, he worked in financial services and investment companies.

Wilcocks will lead IS during its next phase of maturation and growth. He has been with the company for some time and began his career with the group in 1995, as founding MD of Internet Solutions subsidiary Trusted Network Solutions.
A year later, he joined IS as a board member and then held a number of executive positions during his six years with the company, including the post of MD between 1998 and 2001.
In 2001, Wilcocks joined Dimension Data as the executive for strategy and technology.
