Intellient, a local distributor of business performance management and business intelligence solutions, is to host this year`s ALG Software User Group on 19 August at the Park Hyatt hotel in Rosebank.
The user group is a platform for Intellient clients running or implementing ALG products to gather and discuss how they are using their specific solutions; what issues they are facing in their respective industries; what new product releases and upgrades are available; and to be informed about new features and functionality.
"The overall focus of the gathering is to emphasise the value of effective activity-based costing to organisations, especially because it has become such an important tool for business today," says Marc Scheepbouwer, MD of Intellient.
"Special attention will be given to ALG`s Activity Analysis and Predictive Planning solutions as they enable companies to create resource plans and budgets that align with strategy and operational targets."
Activity Analysis expands the functionality of activity-based costing and management with Web deployment, work manager capabilities, an open database architecture and enhanced integration, speeding up data collection and reporting, and enabling organisations to replenish models more frequently.
Predictive Planning enables collaboration and assessment of future demands so that resources can be aligned and capacity optimised. It provides organisations with the means to produce dynamic budgets for real-time forecasting and offers advanced functionality for business modelling and cost analytics.
This year`s customer success stories will be illustrated by ATNS`s use of Metify and Netcare`s use of Activity Analysis. Alistair Hofert, management accountant at Buffalo City Municipality will discuss the purchase of ALG`s Enterprise Performance Optimisation (EPO) Suite, and the lessons being learned as the first South African municipality to roll-out activity-based costing and management technology on an organisation-wide level. Buffalo City is implementing the solution to enable more accurate tariff setting for services through increased visibility of costs, more precise forecasting and predictive planning.
Steve Benham, VP of channel sales at ALG Software, will present the ALG roadmap. He will provide an update on the company itself and how EPO is being used internally; he will discuss the evolving ALG vision for performance management; and he will delve into what international customers are achieving with the EPO Suite.
"The number of ALG users in SA is growing steadily and users increasingly stand to benefit from networking and sharing experiences," Scheepbouwer says. "User groups such as this are the perfect platform for learning the best and most effective ways of solving product-specific problems in diverse environments. Through interaction and discussion with other users, clients can find feasible solutions to problems they have been facing and gain an understanding of problems that may arise. There is no better measure of a product or company than first-hand experience from its customers and users."
