A new app available on iOS today allows users to chat anonymously to each other or to a larger group.
PeeeM is a next-generation anonymous and secure messaging platform that does not require an e-mail address, phone number or address book access to sign up. PeeeM Shout enables users to maintain conversations, in private, with other users with whom they have connected, using a PIN generated by the Web site during sign-up.
The anonymous chat functionality goes beyond one-on-one communication and allows users to broadcast anonymous messages to groups.
"PeeeM Shout is a way for people to communicate anonymously without hiding. It enables anonymous messaging users to connect broadly, but privately, on social media," says Christophe de Courson, CEO of PeeeM.
"Shout is a place where you can launch any subject in front of everyone. All PeeeM users have access to your Shout and can write comments on it. You 'Shout' to the PeeeM world your thoughts on any subject. You are literally Shouting to the world on your subject or your thoughts, but doing so in a secure anonymous manner."PeeeM Shout is gaining traction in Saudi Arabia, where users avoid repressive government censorship," says De Courson.
An earlier version of PeeeM had more than two million global users, with more than a million messages sent daily and an average of 350 000 daily connections. About 65% of users are 13 to 20 years old, with females representing 60% of these.
PeeeM Shout is available free to both Android and Apple users.
