Randgold Resources has contracted branded business and technology solutions provider and implementer Lorge to provide another one of its West African gold mines with an Accpac ERP 500 accounting software solution.
The solution is being implemented at the Randgold Resources office in Abidjan, C^ote d'Ivoire. The contract follows similar Accpac-based solutions installed at Randgold's Loulo mine and at its Bamako office in neighbouring Mali.
Jurgens Snyman, the Services Manager of Lorge's Accpac business unit, said the software is being installed on a Microsoft SQL database. A full administrative Accpac system operating in French and English is being implemented at the Abidjan Office where the Randgold internal back office software systems will be fully integrated.
"These Accpac installations are somewhat unique as the operation and display of the general ledger account is in both French and English and the training will be conducted in both languages too," said Snyman.
"Another requirement is that the chart of accounts will be structured to meet the specific requirements of the government of C^ote d' Ivoire. Once this is achieved the solution will also be configured to the business needs of Randgold."
The solution design also caters for the need to periodically transfer data from Abidjan for incorporation into the central Randgold Resources accounting system.
Lorge is the preferred supplier and implementer of branded business and technology solutions. A deep pool of experience and skills accumulated over 22 years ideally places Lorge to provide independent and consistent expertise in the implementation, support, maintenance and application modifications of business and accounting software systems. Innovative solutions that provide businesses with strategic and competitive advantage are designed and implemented throughout Southern Africa.
