ANS announces multiple monitor videoconferencing solutions

Ariel Network Solutions (ANS) has announced it is supporting the addition of double or triple monitors for the VCON MediaConnect Series product line. The addition of the monitors enables participants to view full-screen remote and local video on separate 29" SVGA or NTSC/PAL monitors, and data on a 29" SVGA monitor.

According to Mike Fisher, product manager at ANS, VCON`s next generation MediaConnect with multiple monitors offers numerous business and education applications." The VCON solution increases distance learning and corporate training opportunities by offering the first multiple monitor videoconferencing system that enables participants to tailor the configuration of voice, video and data sharing to their individual needs.

"The VCON MediaConnect with multiple monitor support provides high quality video and audio, ease of use and further exemplifies a commitment to bring a full suite of H.323 products to the market at a competitive price," notes Fisher. "The MediaConnect`s multiple display support further enhances the product`s capabilities. With this product we are able to offer customers full-range capabilities - from desktop to group meeting - from one product with

multiple monitors."

The MediaConnect Series includes codec, NIC, multiple 29" SVGA or NTSC/PAL monitors, roll-about carts, 200 MHz MMX Intel-based PC, wireless keyboard, pan/tilt/zoom camera, speakers and microphone. The advanced Dell MMX Intel-based PC allows users to access all Windows 95 multimedia features, including MPEG, JPEG and WAV files. In addition, the full suite of Microsoft Office `97 programmes, Internet Explorer and NetMeeting are also included for Internet access and T.120 capabilities.
