Y3K today announced that it has been appointed the business partner and distributor in sub-Sahara Africa for New York- based Sybari Software, the premier anti-virus and security specialist for groupware products.

The Exchange server 2000 anti-virus product operates on a different basis to most of its competitors, in that it detects viruses and potential viruses in memory using multiple virus-scanning engines, prior to allowing the information to be written to disk. This gives the user the option of deleting the "dubious" information immediately, quarantining the information or disinfecting appropriately prior to passing on messages to their intended destination, thus creating a more efficient management process of this critical issue, as well as minimising the user's use of its resources.
