Business intelligence (BI) vendor Antivia has teamed up with service provider e.bi as part of plans to establish a local channel, says ARN.
Antivia`s solution brings Web 2.0 capabilities to BI users, including features such as forums and polls, report ratings and "what`s hot, what`s not" options.
The UXC subsidiary will promote the product to its current customer base through seminars, before pushing "BI 2.0" to the broader market.
Customers opt for BI
HP said the number of customers who opted for its BI services has spiked by 50% in 2007, reports SDA Asia.
The number of BI "mega-deals" has totalled more than 1 million dollars in revenue, a 32% increase.
Survey results from analyst firm Gartner show that BI continues to earn top placement for technology spending priorities. A survey of 1 400 CIOs revealed that BI had the largest increase in priority for two years in a row.
Borland adds BI
Borland plans to integrate BI capabilities into its Open Application Lifecycle Management (Open ALM) solutions in the coming year, says Application Development Trends.
Marc Brown, Borland`s VP of marketing, explained that BI is a new addition to Borland`s product line. The BI capabilities will be added across Borland`s Open ALM solutions.
The names of the new products will be announced early next year, he added. For now, Brown said they all fall under the general nomenclature of "Borland`s business intelligence offering for ALM".
