ANZ and Getronics sign 10-year contract

Johannesburg, 21 Jul 2000

The Australia and New Zealand Group Limited (ANZ), one of Australia`s big four banking institutions, has selected Getronics Globalfs retail banking platform for its retail banking operations, to be used in call centres, branches, business centres and by mobile managers.

Representing the world`s largest Getronics Globalfs deployment announced to date, the will use Globalfs to replace up to a dozen existing platforms.

The ten year agreement with Getronics includes the Globalfs solution suite, professional services, and ongoing support services. The first phase will include the introduction of a new sales and service platform for ANZ.

ANZ selected Getronics and Globalfs as its preferred partner and retail banking platform after reviewing the solutions and capabilities of a number of other retail banking vendors.

What is Globalfs? Getronics Globalfs is a new-generation retail banking platform for Financial Services.

The Globalfs unified multi-channel solution framework provides:

  • Integrated support for multiple channels and applications

  • Tight integration with transaction systems

  • Easy customisation to re-engineer or replicate existing business processes

Globalfs utilises an open architecture and is based on Microsoft`s Distributed internetworking Architecture (DNA). Globalfs fosters the reuse of business processes and components across multiple channels to optimise unified enterprise-wide delivery of products and services.

This is critical to the success of customer relationship management (CRM) efforts in Financial Services companies as certain functions, such as customer identification, relationship profiling and service/product information, cross all delivery channels. Globalfs supports and strengthens CRM capabilities that banks utilise to deliver greater value to their customers.

Globalfs was developed by the Getronics` Centre of Excellence based in the United States, which provides global support for many of Getronics` Financial Services clients.

"Globalfs enables financial services customers to unleash the true potential of multi-channel delivery by optimising enterprise-wide delivery of products and services," said Robin Dixon, Managing Director for Getronics in Australia.

Peter Moore, Microsoft`s Business Solutions Group Director, said: "Globalfs is a great way to combine the power of the Windows DNAfs architecture with the solutions and services offered by Getronics. This is precisely the kind of offering financial institutions need to fully integrate their delivery channels and offer differentiated financial services to their customers."
