Better alignment between application development and IT operations can reduce the costs traditionally associated with application deployment and integration in the enterprise, says HP.
"IT organisations must develop comprehensive application management practices that eliminate the traditional barriers between development, operations, infrastructure and other entities in the organisation," explains Claude Ibalanky, software global business unit manager for HP SA.
Ibalanky says as application services become more complex, a full lifecycle approach is necessary to develop and deploy applications that satisfy ever-changing business needs.
To bridge the gap between application development and IT operations, HP has announced several enhancements to the HP OpenView software portfolio aimed at improving the management of application in production.
The enhancements include templates for rapid deployment of J2EE, Web Server and DB servers as well as new and updated smart plug-ins for BEA WebLogic Integration, Tuxedo Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft Virtual Server, Microsoft Enterprise Server, SAP NetWeaver, Unix OS, Web Server, and Remedy.
Ibalanky says HP OpenView helps customers reduce the need for complex integrations between multiple vendors` point tools.
