ICSA Labs certifies printer security
ICSA Labs, an independent division of Verizon Business, has introduced a service designed to test the security of non-mainstream networked devices, such as printers, copiers, faxes, security cameras, and point-of-sale systems, states DarkReading.
ICSA Labs is offering a vendor certification programme and comprehensive enterprise assessment service that are designed to test the security of devices that connect directly to a network, but are not part of the network infrastructure itself.
This list includes ATM machines, digital signs, proximity readers, and facility management systems for power, lighting, and HVAC systems, ICSA says.
Canon unveils imageRunner Advance range
Canon has responded to a low-volume print-on-demand market that is "evolving rapidly" with the unveiling of its series of imageRunner Advance presses, says ProPrint.
The platform, which was showcased at an event in Barcelona, spans a 30ppm office model in the C5000 series, up to a 70ppm device in the imageRunner Advance Pro range.
Canon is pitching the new machines at customers with lower-volume requirements than its imagePress models, ranging from SME clients up to larger corporates.
