AppRiver, a leading provider of e-mail messaging, cloud security solutions, and Microsoft O365 syndication partner today confirmed its first distributor agreement in Africa. Dax Data, a value-added software distributor and product marketing organisation, is set to add AppRiver's entire security suite to its portfolio.
"This agreement underscores the importance of delivering comprehensive security and productivity solutions to meet the needs of our customers," said Jeremy Matthews, CEO of Dax Data. "By combining AppRiver's innovative solutions with Dax Data's professional services, we are well positioned to offer resellers a complete product portfolio."
The African market has seen an increase in the adoption of cloud technology and is set for continuous economic growth over the next decade.
According to Gartner Research1, Africa is leapfrogging other world regions in the use of innovative technologies in vertical sectors such as communications, healthcare and finance, where conditions converge to encourage adoption. To illustrate, mobile phone connections in the last decade reached 727 million at the end of 2013 and Gartner predicts it will continue to significantly outpace global average growth (forecast at 8.6% to 5.5% compound annual growth rate (CAGR) between 2013 and 2018).
"Establishing a relationship with a distribution partner like Dax Data is indicative of AppRiver's mission to introduce competitive productivity and security services to small and mid-sized companies within South Africa," said Rocco Donnino, EVP, AppRiver. "Advanced targeted attacks, phishing schemes and other common security threats add to the headaches for IT administrators brought by the disruptiveness of digital business. By offering additional layers of cloud-based security, our customers can quickly maximise their IT investment and lower operational costs."
AppRiver offers innovative ways for partners to meet their customers' most pressing IT security needs with award-winning cloud security solutions, which include secure hosted exchange, encryption, archiving, email continuity and Microsoft Office 365 services.
"We are offering all AppRiver services on a month-to-month basis," explains Dominic Richardson, marketing manager, Dax Data. "By doing so, we are providing the flexibility our continent wants and needs."
Donnino is scheduled to deliver a workshop at the upcoming ITWeb Security Summit 2015 to help partners better understand the e-mail threat landscape and determine their customers' risk profile, and how to effectively align their network security strategy.
ITWeb Security Summit 2015 takes place at Vodacom World in Midrand from 26-28 May. Click here to find out more and to register.
