Apps help shoppers with festive savings

Having already established itself as the shopping app of choice among Google's Android Market and the Amazon Appstore, the Coupons App recently accelerated traction among users of the Apple iOS suite of mobile devices, rapidly rising in ranks to seat among the top 40 within Apple's App Store Lifestyle genre.

There are a number of apps available for smartphones that will prove particularly helpful during the big shopping day. Toodledo, Coupons App, Easy Envelope Budget Aid, ShopAdvisor, even Coffee Run, will simplify the day, according to Leon Horton, an area sales manager for US Cellular, Galesburg.com says. The company opened a new store in Seminary Square about two weeks ago.

Toodledo can help shoppers organise the list of stores where they want to shop, set reminder alerts and co-ordinate Black Friday plans with those of family and friends. Horton said the app includes a bar code scanner.

There are plenty of apps tech-savvy shoppers will want to check out, like the TGI Black Friday App. It gives spenders a guide to every door buster deal, every store opening time and even allows shoppers to search for the best price by category, NewsChannel5.com notes.
