AppWorx Corporation, the enterprise process company, and Unisys Corporation today announced that they have established a reseller agreement through which Unisys will package the AppWorx solution as part of the Unisys e-@ction Customer Loyalty System (CLS).
Unisys CLS, the airline industry`s leading loyalty system, increases the revenue potential for frequent flyer programs by managing information on customer travel patterns, preferences, interests and other factors, allowing marketers to create highly targeted promotional offers for airlines` most valuable customers. In its latest release, CLS includes AppWorx to automate and coordinate all of the essential CLS batch processing, including the critical feeds between CLS and travel service partner systems.
AppWorx sets up and automates policies based on the priorities of the business, the specific times that processes need to run, and the available system resources. It launches events in the correct sequence to fulfill business priorities. Within CLS for example, if an airline passenger rents a car from Hertz and is awarded 500 points, AppWorx controls the standard batch processes that update the database to record award information in the customer`s frequent flyer plan.
"In addition to giving customers great flexibility in managing the CLS environment, AppWorx affords our customers the chance to evaluate other opportunities where process automation could make a huge difference for the business," said John Curtin, director of the Global Transportation Development Center.
Integration of the AppWorx product with CLS eliminates the final barrier to the general availability of CLS on the Microsoft Windows NT platform, Curtin explained. "Further the AppWorx product provides the ability to automate within the CLS environment many of the features that previously had to be implemented by code within the application."
Because CLS can be deployed on a wide variety of computer systems, Unisys formerly had to develop and maintain multiple sets of scripts to run each set of batch processes. The AppWorx technology has enabled Unisys to create a single set of templates for business processes.
The templates are easily exported to any of the multitude of Windows NT and Unix system environments supported for CLS. This process dramatically speeds up development and implementation while reducing the potential for errors. AppWorx confirms the arrival of incoming files, determines the order of events within a process and automatically launches them sequentially, eliminating some of the manual processes that were previously required.
"Maintaining application efficiency across business boundaries is now key to creating a competitive advantage," said Bill Wrenn, CEO of AppWorx. "With AppWorx customers can map out and automate the entire process flow, either within a single application or across applications that touch a company`s customers and suppliers. We are proud that Unisys has chosen AppWorx tools to enhance its industry-leading CLS solution and further benefit its customers."
