Aptronics, a full service IT solutions provider to the local corporate market, has been appointed to the HP Linux Elite Partner Programme.
Aptronics, which has enjoyed HP Partner status for the past decade, was the first black empowerment partner to obtain HP StorageWorks certification, and is also recognised as one of the leading HP Enterprise System Resellers in SA.
Furthermore, earlier this year, Aptronics was signed up to the specialist HP StorageWorks Elite Partner Programme.
The Linux Elite Partner status is the most recent in a portfolio of high-level HP partnerships that Aptronics engages in.
This is according to Aptronics MD, Appie Pema.
"As part of the PartnerOne Programme, which has been established to assist HP`s partners in growing their top and bottom lines, and also to reward them for their performance and initiative, HP`s Linux Elite offers an ecosystem for partners worldwide, to effectively deliver Linux solutions and services to customers throughout the world," Pema explains.
"Through HP`s Linux Elite Partner Programme, customers can expect consistent, high-quality Linux solutions backed by the HP brand," explains Andrew Fletcher, Business Unit Manager for HP Linux Elite Partner Programme in SA.
According to Fletcher, HP`s Linux Elite enables channel resellers to benefit from project and marketing support to expand their Linux business and expertise. This portal acts as a repository for confidential information on HP`s Linux strategy, products and solutions.
Aptronics acquired a majority stake in Ubusha Technologies, a leader in the open source market in SA, in March this year.
Aptronics` strength lies in the deployment and implementation of solutions, and the company required a partner that was equally strong in the open source consulting arena.
"Ubusha, which has significant experience and expertise in the open source solutions space, is a Novell Platinum Partner and has furthermore made a significant contribution to the development of the Novell Management Services Framework, was the best choice for us," Pema points out.
