Black-empowered IT solutions and service provider Aptronics has acquired a majority stake in Ubusha Technologies, which operates in the open source market.
The 51% shareholding was previously owned by WMS Holdings. The balance of the shareholding is owned by Ubusha staff.
Aptronics MD Appie Pema says his company was looking for a partner in the open source consulting arena to complement Aptronics` strengths in solutions deployment and implementation.
"Ubusha, which has significant experience and expertise in the open source solutions space, and also is a Novell Platinum Partner, with strong black economic empowerment (BEE) credentials, was an obvious choice for us."
Ubusha MD Marius Agenbag says increasing the BEE portion of its shareholding was one of Ubusha`s primary goals since inception.
