Aptronics, one of SA`s few truly black empowered corporate IT service providers, has recently had its commitment to the promotion of meaningful levels of skills, product knowledge and customer service in the IT industry rewarded by Computer Associates (CA).
The acknowledgement has come in the form of Aptronics receiving Premier status from CA.
"We are committed to delivering integrated, innovative IT solutions that respond to the challenge of today`s evolving and dynamic market, and which increase our valued partners` and customers` competitive-edge through the addition of operational value by staff who are truly empowered in terms of their own skills and capabilities. We regard the achievement of CA Premier partner status as testimony to our ability to do this successfully."
This is according to Harvey Leibowitz, Enterprise Storage Consultant at Aptronics.
"CA has over 30 different Partnership Status qualification requirements, including criteria such as annual volume of business turned over, the partner`s technical skills levels and commitment, and the quality of their customer service interactions and reputation," comments Dion Gerrans, storage brand manager: Africa at Computer Associates Africa.
"Aptronics, which has historically enjoyed a long-standing relationship as a supplier of CA software, meets all our requirements and criteria to qualify as a Premier Partner. They also have a strong relationship with our local distributors," Gerrans adds.
"Our total solution area does not only encompass the provision of hardware platforms and software applications, but also initial consulting and customer needs analysis, through to liaison with customer staff members and on-site installations," comments Leibowitz.
As part of its Premier Status, Aptronics will receive consistent marketing, advertising and customer referral support from CA. This will in all likelihood fall particularly within the enterprise storage and continuous availability arena, an area which CA is focused on.
"Over the past three years particularly, the need for holistic, comprehensive storage solutions has grown not only worldwide, but also locally.
"This growth has been prompted by industry developments such as the information explosion caused by the Internet, and the demands of the 24 x 7 x 365 `always on` Information Age that business has entered," points out CA`s Gerrans.
"The commitment which we at CA have seen from Aptronics, in terms of skills levels and human resources, has impressed us; and we will certainly support all their efforts to qualify further," he says.
"Coupled with the increasing need for storage solutions to cope with the proliferation of corporate information or data, is the need for mission-critical information to be highly available, and also instantly recoverable, should the need arise.
"In line with the above industry trends and business requirements, and our conviction that storage is a hugely important area of both business and IT, Aptronics has made a substantial commitment to investing in, and training of, human capital resources; in order to better service our expanding corporate customer base in these high-impact areas. Our Premier Partner status with CA will also serve to strengthen our capabilities in this area," concludes Leibowitz.
