Aptronics, one of South Africa's foremost black empowered IT solutions providers, was a proud platinum sponsor of HP World 2014, which was held at the Sandton Convention Centre on 13 May 2014.

Hundreds of decision-makers from southern Africa attended the event for a closer look at innovations in cloud, big data, security and mobility that will shape annual IT spending for the next decade.

"HP is the only vendor in the world that has an entire portfolio spanning notebooks, PCs, printing, compute platforms, storage and networking through to software and solutions," said Mark Perry, Business Development Manager at Aptronics. "The breadth of HP's product line is so incredibly vast that it really deserves to be put under one roof to be rightly experienced and appreciated."

As an HP Platinum Partner and Gold Cloud Builder Specialist, Aptronics had its own stand at HP World 2014, where it displayed multiple innovative technologies - an amalgamation of HP's first-class products and Aptronics' superior IT expertise.

"The first technology demonstrated was the open-source cloud environment of OpenStack. Part of this demo focused on HP software-defined networking (SDN), which HP and industry experts believe is the future of the software-defined data centre, so essentially Aptronics presented the future at HP World 2014," Perry stated.

Another cloud based automation stack from HP, Cloud Service Automation (CSA), showcased HP's muscle in cloud technologies.

"Basically, cloud solutions are not a business reality without solid management platforms and hence Aptronics had two management systems on display, namely VMwarevCenter Operations (VCOPs) and Veeam's Veeam One," he concluded.

All of the demonstrations took place under one stand and in one day, which Perry found to be a phenomenal experience. In closing, Perry declared that HP World 2014 was a successful event for HP, Aptronics and customers alike.
