Ardent renews channel partnership with PQBI

Johannesburg, 05 May 2000

Informix, through the recently acquired Ardent Software SA, the management software company, has renewed a channel agreement with systems integrator, PQ (PQBI), a division of Q Data Consulting. This follows a three-year alliance during which PQBI used Ardent`s data extraction, transformation and data loading software in numerous data warehouse projects.

"PQBI has proved to be a committed user of DataStage. By providing the value-add services that go towards the development of business-aligned data warehouses and integrated information delivery, PQBI has given customers the opportunity to develop the sort of business intelligence that supports business strategies," says Denzil de Klerk, product manager at Ardent.

Cape Town-based PQBI offers a full range of end-to-end enterprise information enablement (EIE) solutions - including planning, consulting, integration, and development services - designed to affect bottomline profitability. A contingent of more than 60 business intelligence consultants provide specialised expertise in a number of technologies and vertical markets. PQBI has developed business intelligence capacity in a number of industries, including financial and services based companies.

PQBI divisional manager Gabin Lipshitz says that with the development of data warehouse applications within large-scale enterprise system environments, and with data sourced from multiple internal and external data sources on diverse platforms, PQBI follows a best-of-breed approach to software selection. The sheer size and complexity of such an operation necessitates an industrial strength solution that is quickly deployed and does not require specialist programming abilities. DataStage is part of the delivery infrastructure for a range of PQBI offerings that include e-reporting for business-to-business applications, multidimensional ad-hoc reporting, and information analysis.
