A crucial part of any South African company's Black Economic Empowerment (BEE) responsibilities is making some contribution towards Enterprise Development by either a donation or sponsorship of a developing business venture - a message that Aricent SA has taken to heart.
Elsje de Wit, MD of Aricent SA, says she has always felt strongly about providing a valuable contribution to developing black owned business ventures. Aricent SA's procurement policy ensures that where ever possible, preference must be given to a black owned enterprise. "As part of Aricent SA's annual BEE responsibility, we made the decision to make a financial contribution towards the growth and development of a company called The Business Zone 430 CC."
The Business Zone 430 is a promising concern, the core business of which is the completion of electrical work for residential holdings and small business.
Mr. Josef Nkwe, a qualified electrician, is the sole owner of The Business Zone 430 and has decisive plans to grow his business. He currently employs five other technicians in his team.
The financial contribution that Aricent SA has made to his company will be utilised for cash-flow purposes.
"We also hope that the ongoing relationship between The Business Zone 430 and Aricent SA will result in an expansion of Nkwe's business in terms of both team size and revenue. We also plan on contracting The Business Zone 430 to tend to all our future electrical needs and requirements."
"We, here at Aricent SA, hope that this partnership will continue well into the future and trust that this innovative entrepreneur will succeed in a very competitive market place!"
