Arkansas marketplace drives innovation

Arkansas Manufacturing Solutions (AMS) has unveiled the Arkansas Innovation Marketplace, a new resource to connect Arkansas entrepreneurs and inventors with potential investors, distributors and manufacturers, reports Arkansas Business Online.

Arkansas is one of four pilot states for this new interactive marketplace.

AMS, a programme of the Arkansas Science & Technology Authority, is teaming up with the US Department of Commerce and Merwyn Research to launch Arkansas IM. Its goal is to partner Arkansas innovators with potential buyers, investors, distributors and manufacturers seeking breakthrough technological advancements.

Symposium focuses on manufacturing solutions

'Managing volatility with agile and sustainable manufacturing solutions' will be the theme for the 10th International Life Sciences Symposium, organised by Rockwell , in Karlsruhe Germany, on 17 to 19 June, reports Process & Control Today.

The event is designed for decision makers and management of the life sciences industry involved in research and development, clinical supply, manufacturing, operation, automation, quality management, validation and .

“Facing challenges such as the global economic downturn, increasing competition, the issues of sustainability and safety, and the increasing relevance of biotechnology, life sciences companies have never been under as much pressure to adapt and perform,” said symposium host Hedwig Maes, president EMEA, of Rockwell Automation.

3D Systems offers SLA parts

3D Systems, a provider of 3D printing, direct rapid manufacturing and prototyping solutions, has released extra-large one-piece SLA parts through its online Pro-Parts Marketplace, states GlobeNewsWire.

The company builds these parts on one of its newly launched iPro 9000 XL SLA precision centres, located in its rapid manufacturing centre in Rock Hill, South Carolina, and offers them to its customers via its online Pro-Parts Marketplace.

Through 3D Systems' Pro-Parts Marketplace, customers can obtain parts as large as an automotive dashboard or a car bumper with the precision and accuracy of a hearing-aid shell.
