Army to spend $340m on PM
The group intends to release a request for tender to create an application management services partners arrangement (AMSPA) on or around 20 April. The department has described applications will be required to provide strategy and planning, project delivery and sustainability services across all aspects of the Defence Information Environment.
The deal involves support to enterprise resource planning, system integration activities and ad-hoc engagement of specialist resources. Programmes, projects and other activities commissioned by CIOG under the arrangement will amount to $340 million over the course of the 2011/2012 to 2014/2015 financial years.
According to IT News, the department said in a statement one of the key objectives of the development was to empower the CIOG to deliver end-to-end applications management Services, which included system integration activities, allowing it to forecast ICT applications development and service management demand.
“The high-level objectives of the AMPSA are to enhance application management knowledge required for designing, testing, managing and improving IT services within CIOG,” the draft request said.
