Artec helps clients save money from the impending Microsoft deadline

Johannesburg, 13 Jun 2002

Microsoft has set 31 July 2002 as the deadline for businesses to ensure they are compliant with their new software licensing agreements, although 30 June is the cut-off for the substantial discounts that are being offered.

Unfortunately, these licence agreements are difficult to interpret and need a significant amount of understanding - skills which many user organisations do not have within their staff complement.

Artec Computer Systems, one of Microsoft`s accredited partners through the MLMP program and capable of auditing clients on Microsoft`s behalf, has the necessary skills and understanding to assist customers to interpret the application of the new licensing requirements.

At the same time, Artec is helping users to save money from this costly exercise, through a correct interpretation of the regulations, as well as being able to offer financial assistance for this expenditure through its partnership with various finance organisations, since in many cases these monies have not been budgeted for by the organisations concerned.

"This deadline situation with Microsoft can be very expensive for users, and I am delighted that we are able to assist in a unique and financially beneficial way," commented Andrew Tucker, founder and CEO of Artec Computer Systems.

"There have been many success re the above both here in SA and elsewhere on the continent," said Tucker. "Not surprisingly, those organisations, many of which are major corporates, wish to remain anonymous, even though the savings to those companies have been enormous."
