Artemis ships active alert and ushers in intelligent project management

Artemis Management Systems, the world`s largest independent project management software and consulting company, today announced the shipment of Artemis Active AlertTM, the first intelligent agent for project management. Active Alert is a database monitoring application that automatically notifies project managers when any facet of a project veers away from its predefined course. As a result, organizations can take a more proactive approach to managing projects, and increase their competitive advantage through improved project and resource efficiency.

Active Alert works by constantly searching the Artemis Views database3/4 or any corporate database3/4 for exceptions to established thresholds or business rules relating to project schedules, costs and resources.

When an exception is discovered, Active Alert automatically notifies designated users by e-mail, pager, phone, fax, flat file or HTML publication3/4 an approach called intelligent project management. Active Alert even provides different people within the organization with different updates, ensuring that each accountable staff member gets exactly the right information. Active Alert works around-the-clock using pre-defined business rules and key project indicators to monitor for incidents or trends such as cost overruns, schedule slippages, trends in resource performance, resource conflicts, milestone completion, resources who have not submitted time sheets, or virtually any combination of events.

By storing the data in a repository, Active Alert can then monitor those exceptions that happen frequently and alert users to those trends.
