AS Cooper invests in POS machines

AS Cooper & Sons MD, Somers Cooper, says: “We know that consumers today are looking for differentiation when choosing where to shop.

He says the new POS systems to be deployed in all their locations, including Astwood Dickinson stores, will allow the staff to be effective and efficient, which means improved customer service levels and a higher level of satisfaction.

The systems were acquired from BCS-IBM Bermuda Agency, thanks in part to government's duty relief concession for renovations, says BDA Sun.

The IBM SurePOS systems, running JDS Solutions WinRetail POS software, consume significantly less power than older systems and come with an LCD customer display.

The staff has undergone intensive training but the store is asking for patience from shoppers as they get to grips with the new technology. Cooper says: “There will be a learning curve as we get used to new features and functions.”
