Ascential Software has announced its support for IBM`s new DB2 Information Integrator software. Information Integrator enables on-demand access to, and management and analysis of, information stored on any platform across and beyond the enterprise.
The combined solution of the DB2 Information Integrator and the Ascential Enterprise Integration Suite delivers an end-to-end solution for real-time data quality, transformation, integrated access and analysis of all data types across myriad repositories, anywhere in a company.
Julian Field, MD of CenterField Software, which represents Ascential in SA, says DataStage will form part of a deployed solution with Information Integrator. One of the benefits of the arrangement is data integration projects involving DataStage and Information Integrator in the DB2 market will be easier, and in some the data will be integrated in real-time.

The announcement deepens the long-standing IBM-Ascential strategic partnership through which IBM resells Ascential products as a data integration platform for DB2 data management solutions. Ascential`s support of DB2 Information Integrator enhances customers` ability to maximise the value of enterprise data, increase operational efficiency and profit, and extend business capabilities to new markets.
The IBM-Ascential integrated solution will benefit customers seeking federated and consolidated data integration solutions. The performance advantages of the Ascential Enterprise Integration Suite for data profiling, data quality and data transformation, supported by metadata management, parallel execution and real-time service platforms in high throughput environments, combine with DB2 Information Integrator`s capabilities in federated data management, information integration, analysis, unstructured data, replication and advanced searching. The combination lets customers derive maximum revenue and profit from all business data, regardless of type or source.
