Ascential Software has announced a new set of data integration products for IBM WebSphere Application Server 5.0, permitting organisations to gain real-time access to enterprise data, no matter what the source.
The combination of Ascential Enterprise Integration Suite and Real-Time Integration (RTI) Services with WebSphere delivers advanced technology solutions that lower the cost of data integration without requiring existing applications and infrastructure to be replaced.
"Integrating the Software Enterprise Integration Suite and WebSphere makes the real-time enterprise, or zero-latency enterprise a reality," says Julian Field, MD of CenterField Software, the local Ascential distributor.
"Organisations can now take advantage of the constant availability of reliable, accurate and current information from anywhere in the enterprise, at any time, to drive strategic business initiatives."
Harnessing the benefits of a service-oriented architecture (SOA), the Ascential solutions eliminate concerns about data sources, quality, volumes and latency, enabling customers to leverage real-time information across strategic applications such as customer relationship management (CRM), enterprise resource planning (ERP) and supply chain management (SCM).
"WebSphere has a large installed base in SA," Field continues.
"Local users can now integrate their business applications directly with the most current data from other systems, as the data comes into the organisation, providing the necessary foundation for a highly scalable, on-demand zero-latency enterprise."
Field says a zero-latency enterprise is one in which all data in the company is immediately available to the entire organisation, without the delays usually associated with batch processing or consolidating accounts. In effect, the zero-latency organisation reduces the delay between every event and transaction, and the business`s ability to interrogate, analyse and report on it.
To ensure business continuity and limited expense, Ascential`s software slots into organisations` existing infrastructure without requiring other systems to be upgraded. The organisation keeps its installed applications running, while harnessing the added benefits of immediate information availability.
"Over the last few years, Ascential has delivered high-performance, mission-critical data integration solutions in a number of industries, including financial services, by tapping the strength of IBM`s DB2 Universal Database and WebSphere MQ," adds Field.
Now, in conjunction with interoperability standards such as Enterprise Java Beans (EJB), Java Messaging Service (JMS) and Web services, the Software Enterprise Integration Suite and RTI Services deliver the benefits of in-flight data integration capabilities for common enterprise integration solutions. These include business process integration (BPI), enterprise application integration (EAI) and enterprise information integration (EII).
"Ascential is delivering a solution that will benefit customers through increased operational efficiencies, strengthened customer loyalty and integrated disparate systems," asserts Tom Inman, VP, WebSphere Foundation and Tools, IBM Software.
