Are your IT assets tracked automatically, daily? Do you have a system that alerts you immediately if any hardware is changed on any PC? Do you know exactly what software is loaded? Where and what the licence is? These are questions Andre Coetzee, Arkateq`s Marketing Manager, will ask customers when the company launches its latest innovation, the AssetScout, on Friday, 28 May.
"We have had numerous requests from clients to provide them with an automatic system that tracks all PC hardware and software in their business," states Thomas Muller, MD of Arkateq. "We can now proudly announce that we have developed just such a product locally and will release it on Friday, 28 May," continues Muller.
Unlike other similar systems, the AssetScout is produced locally and the source code resides at Arkateq. This makes customisations for clients easy. "Many clients want to be able to know, on a day to day basis, what their hardware and software assets are. This information can then used for accounting, insurance, budgeting and even planning purposes," explains Coetzee.
"Just this [previously mentioned benefits] would have been enough to satisfy our customers but we took it a step further. The system will be able to alert you in real-time of software and hardware changes made on any computer on the network and all this in 2KB of bandwidth," continues Coetzee. Arkateq plans on expanding the AssetScout to include functionality that clients require.
